Y & T, a pop/heavy metal band taking their name from Beatles' album Yesterday & Today, struggled to find its commercial niche and was in a familiar slump and about to break its association with A & M Records at year-end 1985. Armored Saint, a true heavy metal band hailing from L.A., had released Delirious Nomad and was developing a fanatical following in their local region when they guested at the New Year's Eve concert.
