This design is certainly darker in its humor than most of our fun creations...but these are dark days in Cub history (and every Cub fan harbors a repressed dark spot on their soul). We certainly don't believe that Steve Bartman should harm himself, or that anyone else should harm him (if Alex Gonzalez could have fielded a routine grounder, we'd never even remember Bartman's name), but his regrettable spot in history and unforgettable appearance make his caricature a convenient repository for the anger contained in a century's worth of boiling blue blood.
