Produced by Alan Moulder and Trent Reznor, White Teeth is said to be influenced by Reznor's struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. The album differs from other NIN releases in that it is not a concept album, but rather ""a collection of songs that are friends with each other"" (Reznor).
