Figrin D'an 'Modal Nodes' Jazz Band T-Shirt After years of watching the Star Wars movies, we've come to the conclusion that the Cantina Band is the coolest part of these sci fi films. So we had to make a nondescript Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes shirt, with no Star Wars movie logos or Luke Skywalker references... just the Cantina band as seen in Chalmun's on Tatooine. Can you say totally 'effin rad?!? Yeah, we thought so... Anyway, for a little back story on this Galactic funk band... Figrin D'an is from Bith, he plays Jizz music and is a member of the Intergalactic Federation of Musicians (IFM). We all may have blind love for these guys, but there's always a dark side to the fame and fortune... Figrin D'an is a Glitterstim addict (it's really a shame), on top of that he's a compulsive gambler, preferring the seductions of the Sabacc tables over other casino highlights (it's a losers game). This is the set-up to an epic, franchise-combining intergalactic cerebral battle. Once I started thinking about the various chess pieces the individual characters pretty much assigned themselves – the Alien Queen would be the fast moving, brutal killer of the board. The Emperor would be like the King, fairly slow moving and fragile, but deadly if you get too close. The Predator/Knight would move unexpectedly suddenly being right on you. Cylons and Daleks would move fairly mechanically, their moves slightly restricted… chess, castle, rook, knight, bishop, king, queen, pawn, board, game, board game, black, white, dalek, dr who, predator, cylon, battlestar, bsg, emperor, star wars, palpatine, lightsaber, force, alien, alien queen, aliens, sci fi, sci, fi, science fiction, villians, villains, evil, baddie, bad guy
