You've been hanging out in this warm, wet environment for 9 months, and all of a sudden there are bright lights and loud noises. However, we think it was probably a little more traumatic for the whale and the bowl of petunias. When you come into the world at something like 35000 ft., it's not likely to end well. (Unless there's an airplane and a doctor also involved.) At least our favorite fail whale died happily.
