NIN 'Mr. Self Destruct' T-Shirt Mr. Self Destruct... .that's what the shirt says! Thank god for Nine Inch Nails and cool metal shirts that insinuate the breaking of expensive musical instruments for no good reason! Seriously, Trent Reznor and his band NIN are the only (real) rock band left that still breaks their instruments... I mean, c'mon... if I'm gonna drop $20 on a concert ticket, I expect the band to break at least $20,000 in high-end music gear!! That's just simple economics. But I mean, when I'm not watching Nine Inch Nails break their stuff on stage... I wanted to work with traditional media on this piece. I felt that Kiss being such a great live band using a "liveâ medium such as diluted india ink (basically black water color) and then drawing with tech pens and brushes was a great fit. Using tools like brushes and pens were my guitars and drums.. My volume and distortion was swirling black washes and acrylic white blasts of paint. I hope it feels like KISS doing a live show or reminds you of your best memories of seeing them live. That was the intention and I wanted to do something that just floored KISS fans. As a kid I would draw KISS and also design my own stage sets for the band so doing this piece now (when I can actually draw a lot better) is a dream come true. :) I listened to KISS the entire time I worked on this drawing trying to infuse the energy of music into the final image. thanks for checking it out!male, female - adult$17 -
