Lester Bangs 'Gonzo Journalist' Rock Music T-Shirt We love 70's rock around here (Stillwater rules! There should be a t-shirt)... but through that love we've discovered some great side characters that weren't rock stars, but *true* stars. There's a handful of 70's Rock music writers, Gonzo journalists, that were culled through the desire of certain magazines to bring the debauchery and back story of rock and roll music to the people. I mean, who's seriously not interested in hearing the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll stories of the rich and famous?!? America loves to watch 'em fall. Enter Lester Bangs, true anti-hero. You may recognize his name from the Cameron Crowe movie Almost Famous (played by Philip Seymour Hoffman), or you may have read one of his articles in Creem magazine, Rolling Stone, Villiage Voice, even Playboy and Penthouse. Many many years ago when I was in high school, we had a pencil study assignment to draw one of our heroes, I had a poster of this on my wall and drew it from that back in 1986 I think, I dug this out of the attic recently, scanned it, added a small touch of Photoshop effect to it. I’m considering possibly even taking it a few steps further by adding some other elements to it. It’s like an old car I’m still fixing up, just wanted to see what everyone thought of it.
