I have loved KISS since i was in 5th grade back in 1976. Their makeup and outfits have inspired so many things over the years. I wanted to use Paul and Gene as the central figures here, adding a touch of modern design with the skull, washed out printing and unique design, inspired by not only KISS, but some of the newer line of shirts like AFFLICTION, etc. These types of designs are very popular now and I think this design works well using KISS as the central theme. The name Demon Wings comes from Gene, as he is the demon. Many of the black shirts with the standard face shots of the band have been done over and over so I wanted to try something different. I was reading up on some Native American beliefs, and how different animals were viewed. And while this isn't specifically about any one folklore or belief in particular,I thought it would be fun to play around with that imagery.
